TRITON HIGH SCHOOL SPANISH IMMERSION & EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Spanish Immersion & Exchange Program takes place every other year, in the beautiful Mediterranean city of Valencia, Spain. Two students are placed per host family who have been highly selected and are experienced in hosting international students. Upon arrival in Spain every student goes through a placement evaluation and thereafter, placed in the appropriate level of studies. Students attend classes daily under the instruction of highly qualified native Spaniards. Some highlights of our program include:
- Making life-long international friendships
- Fun afterschool activities such as going to the beach, learning to dance salsa, learning to make a Spanish dish, watching Spanish movies, day trips, city tours of Valencia, visiting museums & historical sites such as palaces, the Central Market (El Mercado Central), the city aquarium; and enjoying a weekend trip to a major city such as Barcelona with a stay in a luxury hotel serving a buffet of Spanish breakfast foods; just to mention but a few of the many exciting immersion experiences!
- All participants who successfully complete a summer program receive an academic certificate and can enroll in the following year’s program to continue with their studies of the Spanish language and culture at a more advanced level.
We welcome inquiry and participation from students outside of Triton as well. Triton encourages collaboration from schools and students in the North Shore who are interested in joining our program.
